Tana

Gli oggetti prelevati dall’ambiente domestico sono protagonisti di un processo di ‘umanizzazione’, e agiscono come presenze empatiche capaci di raccontare il proprio vissuto e le proprie memorie. In Tana è evidente una sorta di fusione tra il corpo umano e i cuscini appartenenti al divano della casa in cui è cresciuta l’artista. Questa sintesi è frutto di una mimesi in cui il materiale utilizzato pone una sorta di ambiguità tra ciò che è realmente, lattice, e la particolare somiglianza che questo polimero ha con la pelle. Tale confusione è accentuata dalla presenza di lividi sulla superficie.

Objects taken from the domestic environment are the protagonists of a ‘humanisation’ process, and act as empathic presences capable of narrating their own experience and memories. In Tana we see a sort of fusion between the human body and the cushions from the sofa of the house where the artist grew up. This synthesis is the result of a mimesis in which the material used poses a sort of ambiguous relationship between what it really is — latex — and the particular resemblance this polymer bears to skin. This confusion is accentu- ated by the bruises present the surface.
